Power of Youth Grant Program
$2,000 available for community grants
The Verendrye Electric Cooperative Power of Youth program is a way to honor youth groups in the communities we serve. Verendrye will award a grant, maximum of $2,000, to a youth group that has made a positive impact in a community.
It can be something new or part of an existent project. Only non-profit organizations or school groups are allowed to enter. The application must be completed by a student in grades 7-12 whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) is a Verendrye member.
Entries will be judged and more than one group may be awarded. The grant will be awarded to the group or organization and must be used towards their community project. The group must involve at least three youth.
This is a competitive process and the total pool of grant money is $2,000. That means groups that apply may or may not receive the full amount requested. Projects should be scaleable in case applicants receive less than the amount requested.
The applications will be judged on the following criteria:
- How big is the impact on the community, school or other group
- How many youth are involved and how much work are they putting into a project
- Creativity
- Innovation
The application is below. For more information contact Kristie Hoff at Verendrye Electric.
